Flattery words

I have learned in my short days that godly people do not use flattery but speak truth in love. Flattery is lies covered with fake kindness with an agenda attached. “He who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor Than he who flatters with the tongue.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭28:23‬ ‭NASB‬‬ Real honorable people will not stoop to flattery. Those who do not obey His commands will use persuasive words instead of words that encourage. They usually are based in material things and not in real character. I am convicted and convinced that encouragement in who we are grows us in who we are becoming instead of keeping us where we are. So be wise to know Truth in grace over flattery. Also, speak truthful encouragement not just words that are empty of real kindness. It breaks my heart to see God’s people led astray by flattery when the real source of all we need is found in Christ. Jesus is really all we need, not the approval of men or the thought that we may belong to a certain group of people. When God has made it clear that all belong in God’s kingdom and that’s where true encouragement is found. Anything that leads you away from Gathering with the people of God promising you anything that sounds enticing is flattery that leads you empty and usually alone. #youbelong
