Honor comes with Honesty

honesty

I was in the kitchen with my Titus Bug and you never, never, never know what this child is thinking no less, what is about to come out of his mouth!

This time I was safe he just wanted to discuss his name and what they mean again. I teach them often what their names mean. I want them to know they have a meaning and strive to live up to what they have been called. I believe that God was specific about His name and the meanings also

I teach them often what their names mean. I want them to know they have a meaning and strive to live up to what they have been called.

When we decided their names we wanted a meaning behind them. A respectable meaning!

I believe that God was specific about His name and the meanings. In that they brought Him such glory and honor.

I once heard a friend tell me that an older man said, “I named my children biblical names so that if and when their hearts ever stray from the Lord ~When they heard their names they would remember the Lord and His goodness.” I love this intentional parenting. I pray that for my children also.

So, as we sit on the kitchen floor and discuss each name of all 3 boys, we went on to talk more about what “a Titus is”! As he is only 6, we discuss how ‘Titus’ means honor or pleasing. I go on to tell him how important honor is and how he needed to be a boy who spoke truth. And how Honor comes with Honesty.

I pray this will be something he let’s not only shape his mind but let it settle right down in his heart that he may grow into a man of Honor through his Honesty and integrity.

This all got me thinking do I have honor, do I bring honor to my friends, family and mostly to my God?

Do you find that you seek to honor those around you by speaking truth and walking in a manner that is worthy of your calling?
